Sometimes you write up yerself a song that you're proud of for an odd reason. I enjoy this song not because I think it's a particularly good song (it sucks) but because the person I wrote it for (Julie is her name) thinks it's a good song (she's wrong, but I'm not going to correct her). It's about the year or so that she spent teaching english overseas. I have no romantic connection to Julie (if you ever meet her you will be startled by how horribly unattractive she is, so prepare yourself now) and there are some lines in this tune that allude to some kind of romanticism, but those are red herrings. Same thing for some other songs I've written, like "Michelle, What You Put Me Through" which is about this girl I know and it's written from the perspective of her mom.
